Quick weekend from Singapore to Siem Reap for the Angkor Wat Half Marathon. 3 days, 2 nights.
Note: Siem Reap mostly only accepts USD as their currency so do be sure to have enough on hand for food, shopping, tuk tuk etc.

Angor Wat

Unnamed Road, Krong Siem Reap, Cambodia

Angor Wat is a temple complex and is the largest religious monument in the world. A UNESCO World Heritage Site is a must-see when in the SE Asia region. This place is huge, measuring 162.6 hectares! Book a tour guide and driver through any hotel you choose to stay at, and both are a must!! You cannot walk the entire site area, it's far too large of an area to cover on foot and you'll want a guide to explain all the history behind the Temples.

First, your guide and driver will take you to ticketing to purchase your ticket for entry. Tickets are sold as 1, 3 or 7 day entries and are paid for with cash or credit. You'll need your passport to gain entry as well. Best to go early in the morning as you'll want to beat the heat and the crowds. Wear light clothing and a hat and bring water-though your driver should have waters in the vehicle for your consumption. Many people go for the sunrise and sunset at the main complex, I saw the sunrise as I was cheering on my Husband as he ran the Angor Wat Half Marathon. Don't miss Ta Prohm as it's the temple from Lara Croft Tomb Raider.

Note: due to religious background of Angor Wat complex, you MUST cover your shoulders and knees when inside any of the temples. A simple sarong will do to wrap around your waist and best to bring a button down to quickly cover your shoulders upon entry. They will not sell you a ticket for entry if you are dressed in revealing clothing. All of this information and more, like hours of entry etc can be found online.
