A weekend in Charleston, South Carolina

Last year, I visited Charleston, South Carolina to celebrate Easter with my family. Charleston is a great city with so much to do.

Hyman's seafood

Hyman's seafood

Hyman's seafood has been serving fresh seafood and also great meals for non- eaters for over 35 years. Reservations suggested to avoid the long wait. Either way it's worth it! Make sure to check out the adjacent lotion/salt scrub store!

Pounce Cat Cafe

Pounce Cat Cafe + Wine Bar, Meeting Street, Charleston, SC, United States

Enjoy a dessert and/or beverage while spending an hour playing and cuddling with adorable cats and kittens. A great way to relax or bond with a potential new pet if you're looking to adopt. All proceeds benefit cats in need.

Shem Creek

Shem Creek Marina, Mill Street, Mount Pleasant, SC, United States

Venture out to Mt. Pleasant right over the Ravenel Bridge for great restaurants, bars and daytime water activities. You can kayak, paddle board and fish right on the creek. If you're lucky, you might even see a couple dolphins swim by.

Marriott Courtyard

Courtyard by Marriott Charleston Historic District, Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC, United States

The Marriott Courtyard on Calhoun Street is very reasonably priced, and centrally located. There are also many high end boutique hotels, which offer another level of luxury but at a cost.

Charleston City Market

Charleston City Market, Meeting Street, Charleston, SC, United States

The Historic Charleston City Market started as part of the slave trade, but now is a vibrant market place that runs about four city blocks. Vendors sell their unique items and gifts including the most popular, hand woven baskets. Come back at night to enjoy the night market with a different group of vendors.

Palmetto Carriage Works

Palmetto Carriage Works, Guignard Street, Charleston, SC, United States

This horse and carriage ride was one of my favorite experiences from Charleston. Choose either a public or private tour, and ride around 25-30 blocks of Charleston’s historic downtown district. You'll see
houses, gardens, mansions, churches & parks.

Rainbow Row

Rainbow Row, East Bay Street, Charleston, SC, United States

Rainbow Row is a must see. A beautiful street to stroll down and see some of the pastel coloured homes.

Folly Beach

Folly Beach, SC, United States

A great way to escape the city and relax. Folly beach is one of the many beautiful beaches in Charleston. Others include Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms, and Bull Island.
