I went to Cape Town, South Africa for 7 days. My husband was on a work trip so most of my days actives were a solo mission.

Table Mountain

Table Mountain, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

Excellent hiking trails from the bottom of the mountain up to the top. If you aren't trying to do a full hike you can take the cable car up from Tafelberg Road up to the plate at the top of the mountain. The viewpoint from the top of the mountain is incredible allowing you to overlook Cape Town, Table Bay and Robben Island. Truly incredible. Pack a light jacket as it can be quite windy and chilly at the top.

Boulders Beach

Boulders Beach, Kleintuin Road, Cape Town, South Africa

Check out Boulders Beach if you want to see the African penguin colony at Boulders Bay. The African penguins are only found on the coastlines of Southern Africa and are on the verge of extinction. Certainly a must-do if you find yourself in the fairer Cape.

Babylonstoren Farm & Garden Tour

Babylonstoren, Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa

My visit to Babylonstoren farm was the highlight of my trip. Babylonstoredn farm is a historic Cape Dutch farm that provides you with an opportunity to walk through and view one of the best and oldest preserved farms in the Cape. The gardens are truly magnificent- there are several restaurants on-site and you can even stay in the Farm Hotel. You absolutely must pre-arrange a booking in advance for the tour and of course if you would like to stay at the Farm Hotel you'll need to arrange for that in advance as well.

Pot Luck Club

The Pot Luck Club, Albert Road, Cape Town, South Africa

One of the top restaurants in Cape Town. Tapas style food, truly incredible with reasonable prices. The restaurant is located in the Old Biscuit Mill which is a small enclave of shops and restaurants. You'll need to make an advanced booking as they do not accept walk-ins. You can make your booking online, which will also require a small deposit to guarantee your reservation that will be applied to your final bill as a credit.
Menu-wise we ate the Peri Peri Chicken, Cauliflower couscous, Calamari, Beef Fillet, Burrata, and Fish Tacos. Delicious!

The Old Biscuit Mill

The Old Biscuit Mill, Albert Road, Cape Town, South Africa

A great spot for artisan shopping, restaurants and cafes right in the heart of Woodstock. Loved going here in the daytime to have a look at the wares the local artisans were selling and stopped for a coffee after.

St James Beach at Muizenberg

Muizenberg, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

A great local beach to go spend a warm afternoon at. Great for swimming and surfing, too. Bored of the sun and sand? Little cafes and shops are around to occupy your time. The brightly coloured beach houses were my favourite.
